Removal of two existing bridges. One bridge carried Route 16 over the MBTA Railroad & Rivers Edge Drive. The other bridge carried Route 16 over the Malden River. Demolition of the Railroad Bridge was performed during weekend shutdowns of the Orange Line and Commuter Rail. The existing bridge over the Malden River was a two leaf bascule bridge.
